HISTORY, HERITAGE AND HEROES
Born from the racetrack and built on eight decades of mechanical passion, Bardahl was founded in 1939 and from its earliest days, has been driven by a vision of a world without friction.
It all started in 1922, when Ole Bardahl arrived in Seattle, bringing capability in construction and chemistry. Within a few years in 1939, a pivotal year for the brand, he developed a revolutionary lubrication principle based on polarisation. The principle allowed the creation of an anti-friction, anti-wear, and anti-corrosion film, resistant to extreme pressures and moving metal surfaces, regardless of the metallic system. He impressed the U.S. military, who classified the product formula as a ‘defence secret’ until the end of World War II. The founding formula was discovered by motorsport enthusiasts who discovered using Bardahl products gave them an advantage over their competitors.
The decades that followed saw the brand take hold across America, and become the third major player, before in 1954 expanding into Europe, specifically when a young visionary entrepreneur, Jean Leplat, became the exclusive distributor of Bardahl products in France. A new story started with the formation of SADAPS BARDAHL, embodying sponsorship and involvement in major motorsport events. From day one it was out in front.
Internationally renowned, Bardahl Sadaps today designs, manufactures and distributes high-performance chemical products for the automotive, motorcycle, industrial, food, agricultural, DIY, marine, and aeronautical industries. Bardahl also manufactures these same products for leading carmakers (Peugeot, Citroën, Renault, VW Group France, Ford, Groupe Fiat France, etc.)
In the spirit of passion, innovation and adventure, a new era of green products, our Eco Engine cleaning range, was formed through investment in energy saving, environmentally friendly technologies. State of-the-art research and development laboratories and a dedicated team of engineers, underpin the Bardahl ethos of strong values for a strong future. The United Kingdom can now benefit from this rich heritage and access a curated range of leading products here, so that you can protect, clean and extend the life of your engine rather than replace.
